I Can Relate
I had a chimpanzee as a companion once. His name was Brian Burton. He mauled my friends too, but in a different way. Actually he was more like an ass than a monkey. Nobody has shot him yet.

Patti's Phone Infomercial
One of my phones died the other day so I thought I'd try a new battery. It didn't work, so I had to get a new phone. I did a little research and found that the newest phone technology was DECT 6.0. I don't know the technical info except that the 6.0 is supposed to get rid of interference on your line by not competing with other electronic appliances. Since I can't walk into my kitchen or dining room with a cordless phone without having to compete with screeches and scratches I thought that I would try out the 6.0. I bought a Radio Shack (Presidian)6.0 since they were kind enough to give me credit for the battery that didn't work in my phone. Low and behold no static anywhere in the house!!!! I can even walk outside with it. It's the little things in life that give me such pleasure. It's great when a product claim matches up to the service. So, if you are in the market for a new phone and static is a problem, check out the 6.0. By the way if any phone manufacturer wants to pay me for my promotion of their product I would be happy to accept any and all gratuities.

Be careful what you say, you could scar a kid for life.
"Don't put all of your eggs in one basket." If I did that, I'd have to carry 6 baskets to the barn everyday to gather eggs. That would be silly! That cliche came to me today while gathering eggs. Taken literally that is just not a practical idea. Figuratively it makes sense; to most adults. Imagine if you were 5 or under and someone said that to you. Maybe that's what I was doing this morning, thinking like a 5 year old. What are some other sayings that would probably confuse a child? "Don't count your chickens before they are hatched." Why not, I can count the eggs. "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." That one even confuses me???? "You'd lose your head if it wasn't fastened on!" That one is just down right scary. One cliche that we say to kids often; "Don't let the bed bugs bite." They might never sleep again. "It's raining cats and dogs." They might think they are getting a new pet. I was looking on a website of common cliches and found one that I personally have never used; "you can't polish a turd." Actually that is not true. I saw an episode on Myth Busters where they actually did form turds in to a ball and polished it to a shine. So all of you turds out there, there is hope!

What would I do without my grandbabies????
I'm feeling depressed again. It must just be this time of year, part of my Circadian Rhythm must be out of whack in the months of February and March. It's not a weather thing either. Last year I was in sunny Florida and it still happened. Since I'm home though, I at least have more things to occupy my time and force me to get out of bed in the morning. I have one or more grandchildren almost everyday. They don't let me be depressed. I'm either breaking up a fight or laughing so hard at their antics that I wish I had a camcorder strapped to my head at all times to catch the priceless moments. Julian and Nicholas are typical brothers, fighting one minute and being each others best friend the next. Julian is a carbon copy of Bryan. Not when Bryan was little, but now. He jokes and teases just like Bryan does and he can tell you a "story" like you wouldn't believe. He's picked up a few of Sarah's mannerisms too (impatience). We were sitting in the car the other day waiting in line at his school. We were sitting there less than 2 minutes and he says, "this is about as bad as getting a booster shot!" as he rolls his eyes and scoffs. "what is?" I ask. "Waiting in line all day just to go to school!" Nicholas says, "yah, go to school." They are so adorable, I just want to eat them up! The triplets will be here in a couple of weeks to celebrate their 3rd Birthday with their cousins. That should be a HOOT! I better charge up my camera batteries.

Random Thought of the Day
It would be so much easier to shop for and try on dresses if all of my body parts were in their proper positions. Just thought I would share.
