I know Joe is down in Florida missing his girl, so I thought I'd make him a little presentation to show him how much I love him!

Word Abuse

The two most overused words in the english language: like and totally. I like totally am guilty of using them both. I think it's this decade's version of far out and groovy.

Congrats Mr. President (Good Luck)

I have to admit that I did not watch the inaguration today. I didn't realize that it was on during the day, and I'm a busy woman. I'm sure I can see the important parts later on the news, or online. I couldn't let the day go by however, without making some thought provoking comment on this momentous day. Whether you like President Obama or not you can't argue the fact that he has charisma. I heard 2 million people were at the inaguration. He has people excited and stoked up! The political process over at least the last year has gathered a monentum that keeps getting stronger. I hope that peoples expectations are not so over the top though that they expect miracles. Because you know what they say, "what goes up must come down", or "the higher you go, the farther you fall". You get the idea. We need a little yin yang (balance). I don't fault Bush for all the trouble in the US. Think about it, it takes thousands of people to run a government. The President is the scapegoat when things go wrong. It's human nature, we need a figure head to blame for all of our troubles. It makes us feel better. So do you think that any of the past presidents woke up one day and said: "I want to be President someday. I want to be a prisoner in my own house. I don't want to go outside without secret service watching my every move. I don't want to be able to go to the movie or a ball game by myself. I want 1/2 of the people in America to love me and the other 1/2 to hate me. If I have to send troops to war, I want the burden of bearing some guilt for the death of young soliders. I want to be blamed for everything that goes wrong in the country and not given much credit for the things I do right. I want to never be able to have a lazy relaxing day because I will be thinking about my huge responsibility 24/7? Yah, I want to be President." I seriously doubt it. I'm pretty sure most of the past Presidents had a genuine desire to make America a better place for all of us. That was their goal and desire, but the best laid plans always have a few wrinkles. So congratulations Mr. President, welcome to the White House.

Fun With Fashion

Fashion today is pretty much anything goes. There are the trend setters, the jeans and t-shirt crowd, the vintage hand me down crowd, and various other eclectic fashionistias. I think it's all great! Whatever makes you feel good. I still have a t-shirt that I wear from 1977. It has a picture of Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was Mr. Olympia. Make-up and hairstyles are part of the fashion craze as well. If I see someone with spiked pink hair, I say "good for them!" It's probably not something that I would do, but it doesn't matter. It's self expression at it's best. This brings me to the point of today's blog. There is one thing with regard to fashion that I don't get. I am hoping someone out there has the answer. Everyone has seen this before, a seemingly normally dressed woman. Nothing outlandish, maybe wearing a top that is a little too tight, but otherwise nothing that is worth a double take. Until you look at her cheeks. No, not the butt cheeks. Right in the middle of the apple of her cheeks are two pink circles, well defined and very round. Or maybe it's two pink brush marks; equally defined rectangles. No blending, just war paint type marks. The color is never a subdued pink, but rather crayola hot pink. I really want to know what these women are thinking when they put on their makeup. "Hmmmm, I think I'll do the bozo makeup today." Or is it a cry for help? "Help, I'm being held prisoner by an evil clown that paints my face and makes me go out in public." Where is their family and friends. Do they not have anyone around to tell them that a little blending would make all the difference in the world? Do they not see the hundreds of magazines at the checkout counters and images everywhere of women with their blush blended in? Honestly, they can do whatever they want. I just want to know WHY!

Happy Birthday Monica

Birthday's will be different now that you have a little one. It's funny how your attention shifts from yourself to your baby and you don't even mind. I hope you have a wonderful day, and try to do something for yourself. Love and Kisses!!!

Random Thought Of The Day

I would totally be a vegetarian if weren't for the fact that you have to give up meat. I love beans and rice!

People That Piss Me Off

Ann Coulter. Do you know who she is? I didn't until I watched her in an interview on the Today's Show. She is a conservative and is a columnist or I should say was a columnist for I think the New York Times. They apparently dropped her as a writer because for lack of a better phase; she is a self promoting, simple minded, obnoxious, bitch. People in her own political party wanted her out because she was giving them a bad name. I only saw her for 5 minutes and she annoyed the hell out of me. She has written a book and was on the Today's Show promoting it. Matt Lauer was asking her to elaborate on some of her comments in the book. One statement she made had to do with single parents and how they are the reason this society is in the toilet. Specifically single women parents. Statistically speaking most of the criminals in jail right now are from single parent homes. That may be so, but I don't think you can solely blame single parenting as the reason. I was a single parent and my kids aren't criminals. I think it has to do more with economics and the people you surround yourself with. That is my problem with people like her. Everything is not black and white. To make all or never statements shows single mindedness and intolerance. Different points of view makes for good discussions but rigid thinking and ideals makes for wars. I only bring this up because she and other people like her piss me off. I read somewhere that blogging about things like this helps promote good health because you can get if off your mind and move on to other things more productive. So, I am done thinking about you Ann Coulter, you are nothing more than a pimple on the butt of humanity.
